ChatSweep Privacy Policy

ChatSweep is a browser extension that helps you find and remove low-value conversations on ChatGPT (chatgpt.com), Google Gemini (gemini.google.com) and Anthropic Claude (claude.ai). This policy explains what the extension reads, what it stores and what it does not do.
Summary
Everything stays in your browser. ChatSweep has no servers, makes no network requests of its own, and contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code. Nobody, including the developer, can see your data.
What ChatSweep reads
Only when you start a scan or an action, and only on the three sites above, ChatSweep reads:
- The titles and links of conversations shown in the site's sidebar.
- The sidebar's menus and confirmation dialogs, so it can carry out a delete or archive you asked for.
ChatSweep does not read the messages inside your conversations, your account details, passwords, or any other website.
What ChatSweep stores

This data never leaves your device unless you export it yourself with "Export JSON" in Settings.
Actions on your accounts
ChatSweep only deletes or archives a conversation after you select it and confirm. Dry runs, which are on by default, check that an action would work without changing anything. Deleted conversations are removed by the platform itself and cannot be recovered by ChatSweep.
Sharing and selling
ChatSweep does not sell, share, or transfer any data to anyone. It does not use your data for advertising, credit decisions, or any purpose other than the features described above.
Deleting your data
- Use Settings → Privacy & data → Reset data to clear everything ChatSweep stored.
- Uninstalling the extension also removes all of its stored data.
Permissions
- storage: keep your settings and scan results on your device.
- scripting: connect to a ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude tab that was already open before the extension was installed.
- Access to chatgpt.com, gemini.google.com and claude.ai: read the conversation sidebar and carry out the actions you confirm. ChatSweep has no access to any other site.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new "Last updated" date.
